Back4vita Jump powered by Saubermacher: 1,500 € for a clean environment

Date added: 5 November 2009

In 2008, Triangle International has launched the campaign 4vita. Its principles “better sport” and “better earth” are designed to remind athletes that they should care about cleanliness during the event. This year, an eco-friendly race is ensured in cooperation with “Saubermacher” - one of Austria's biggest private waste disposal enterprises.

4vita Jump powered by Saubermacher!

The "4vita-Charity-Bell" was installed in the Old Square of Klagenfurt‘s city centre. The project "Jump 4vita" – “Jump for life“ - challenges athletes to take action. Therefore, the 2,400 atheletes rang the bell to demonstrate their willingness to support healthy and eco-friendly running. The project was generously sponsored with an amount of 1,500 € by the Saubermacher company.

This donation will in turn support an environmental project of the city of Klagenfurt: In the nature reserve region Lendspitz-Maiernigg, a shallow water area with an adjacent marsh was restructured and will from now on serve the fauna as core zone of the nature reserve. Like any other newly designed area, the landscape needs some initial tending strategies in order to guarantee proper growth and to counteract potential undesired development.
