Spectator Info Guide
PUBLIC INFO
Spec-Savers Ironman 70.3 South Africa will make its sixth appearance in (Buffalo City) East London on 20 January 2013. The event will be centered around the Orient Beach Complex.
Race Day promises to be extremely exciting and we aim to make this triathlon as spectator friendly as possible. The course design will bring the athlete back to the Start & Finish Area at Orient Beach 5 times so there will plenty of opportunity to cheer your favourites along and get into the spirit of the race.
We are preparing an entertainment programme with traditional dancers, cheerleader, announcers, a kids programme and lots of give-aways to keep the crowd entertained the whole day.
Road Access
Various roads will be closed on Race Day from 5am and will start opening from 12:55pm onwards, depending on the status of the last athlete. Road Closure maps will be available to download closer to Race Day.
Tip: A moment not to miss will be when the last athlete crosses the Finish Line. There will be streamers and confetti - and lots of cheers - as we bring them home before the final cut-off. (Approximately 4:10pm).
